Frontend Development: The Journey

Frontend Development: The Journey

My journey into web development still surprises me because I never really saw myself as the coding-type . I've always been the curious type of person though, wanting to always know how something comes to be. One day, an experience I had led me to try learning web development and the journey to where I am now wasn't an easy one. Getting my hands on a lot of resources was overwhelming as I had to joggle through a lot of tutorials. This was in a bid to understand web development as easy as possible. After some weeks, I realized that I haven't actually learnt anything and wouldn't be able to explain what web development is about if I was to be asked. So, I reached out to a friend in the tech industry (another field though) and explained the difficulties I was facing, he gave me some form of motivation, made me know that it's a gradual process(and I shouldn't rush the process) and I continued my learning. His advice encouraged me to always push on even when I feel like giving up along the way (because it will surely get tough).

After some months, a friend suggested I join internships as it will help a lot in giving me direction and also in networking with other individuals in the tech industry and recommended HNG internship. I made my research on what they had to offer, what I'd gain and found them pretty interesting. Despite the stories about the internship being extremely tough and the anxiety that comes with it, seeing the achievements of the past graduates of HNG motivated me to apply, and to be more determined to reach the finals and achieve a whole lot during and after this (amazing) journey. I got accepted into the internship and I made a decision that I will get to the finals regardless of the hurdles that are going to come along the way. The internship program just got started , looking forward to achieving a lot through this internship: mastering front-end technologies like React and Next.js, focusing on best practices and efficient coding techniques; actively engaging with mentors and peers.🤞. The HNG Internship is more than just a learning opportunity; it's a platform for transformation. HNG's structured, hands-on approach ensures that I don't just learn theories but apply them in real-world projects. Working in collaborative teams will expose me to different perspectives, enhance my problem-solving skills, and improve my ability to work under deadlines.

Moreover, the mentorship provided by industry experts at HNG is invaluable. Their guidance will help me refine my coding practices, adopt best industry standards, and stay updated with the latest trends in front-end development. Technologies like React and TypeScript enable developers to write more robust and scalable code, and if needed, you can hire TypeScript developers or React developers to elevate project quality. The internship will also help me build connections with fellow developers, fostering a community of support and continuous learning.

I would like to give a shout out to @AngelYu, @Freecodecamp, @KevinPowell , @ProgrammingWithMosh who through their YouTube tutorial videos have helped me in my frontend journey.
